The series is tied 1–1, and both meetings have come since Oklahoma joined the SEC. There is no deeper history to draw on.
South Carolina won the first meeting 35–9 in Norman in October 2024, a 26-point margin that remains the largest in the series. Oklahoma answered a year later, winning 26–7 in Columbia on October 18, 2025.
Neither team has won at home in this series. 2026 will be the third meeting and South Carolina’s second trip to Norman.

The lower west sideline gives the best sightlines. The south end zone student section is the loudest part of the stadium and generally not where visiting fans want to sit.
Atmosphere and Traditions
Gaylord Family–Oklahoma Memorial Stadium opened in 1923 and is known as the Palace on the Prairie. It is the largest sports venue in Oklahoma and celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2024.
After every Oklahoma score the Sooner Schooner — a scaled-down Conestoga wagon pulled by the white ponies Boomer and Sooner — races across Owen Field. It was introduced in 1964, became the official mascot in 1980, and is operated by the RUF/NEKS spirit squad. The Pride of Oklahoma marching band plays “Boomer Sooner” throughout, and the O-K-L-A-H-O-M-A chant runs through the stands.
