    On September 6, 2008, Texas won 42–13 at the Sun Bowl in El Paso, with Colt McCoy throwing for 282 yards and four touchdowns, despite UTEP’s early 6–0 lead.
  • 2009: Texas’ Largest Margin
    On September 26, 2009, Texas dominated UTEP 64–7 at Darrell K Royal-Texas-Memorial Stadium, intercepting UTEP quarterback Trevor Vittatoe four times.

  • 2020: Ehlinger’s Record-Setting Performance
    On September 12, 2020, Texas crushed UTEP 59–3 at Darrell K Royal-Texas-Memorial Stadium in Austin. Sam Ehlinger threw for 426 yards and five touchdowns, including a 78-yard touchdown pass to Joshua Moore on the first play, marking a dominant season opener.
